Water and sewerage Podgorica performs the following tasks: collecting water from sources and wells, filtering and distributing water to houses and industries, collecting and transporting utility, atmospheric and other wastewaters, maintaining sewage and other wastewaters, sludge processing and maintenance of atmospheric water storage systems . The company operates in the capital of Montenegro and distributes water for 65,000 households and industries. The realization of the IS was directed at improving the work of the company, simplifying the work with consumers, increasing the transparency of information within the company, thereby reducing the mistakes and enabling improvement of the company's overall governance.
The multidisciplinary team of ASW in cooperation with the IT sector of ViK Podgorica was involved in the project implementation. In the initial phase of the project, special attention was paid to the analysis of all business processes and documents used in the company. After a series of interviews and the adoption of the adapted project specification, it started with the development of a software solution. For the needs of implementation, three existing products were used (asw: dominus, asw: libris and asw: sapiens) and a completely new software product was developed for the collection of utility services - asw: utilitas. Software adaptation and development activities followed the analysis of existing data and their migration. The final data migration result is a unique archive of all subscriber groups including their data since 2008 and the creation of a new production base starting in 2014. A particular challenge was the training of a large number of users for work on the complex and interdependent activities. The new IS also brought challenges to the organization of the company, whereby the process of facilitating asw: libris (DMS) products was facilitated. The implementation phase, through adequate preparation, wholehearted and unselfish cooperation and dedication, enabled timely commissioning. The first invoices were generated and issued in January 2014. This is accompanied by the implementation of advanced business reporting functions. A special advantage of this project is the fact that the IT department of the Podgorica Trust Fund has completely taken control of the support of the first level and is constantly working to improve the organization and the level of use of the system. Based on the suggestions received from IT departments and end users, ASW is constantly working to improve its products.
